Jenna’s paintings are created by vibrant washes of watercolor mixing together to create unique and unpredeictable combinations. Then she moulds and shapes the image and slowly builds while still highlighting the chaotic first layers. Life is unpredictable, live free.. paint free.
Jenna has been teaching watercolor since 2014 and has the privilege of working with many wonderful locations such as Bellevue College, South Settle Community College, Daniel Smith, the Woman’s University Club (Seattle) Gage Academy, and Antioch University. You can find more information about Jenna here.

Beacon Food Forest - Third Saturday Work Party

Work parties at BFF are led by core volunteers who assist in caretaking on-site. The tasks for each work party vary based on the needs of the teams at the Beacon Food Forest. These tasks can vary in intensity and even be completely different every month. Usual tasks include weeding, path/site cleanup, sowing seeds, mulching, etc. We recommend that you dress appropriately for the weather. In the colder months (October - April), wear a good jacket/coat for rain or wind, a hat, and/or gloves. Though we typically have water and snacks on site, in the warmer months (May - September), bring your own just in case! The nearest restroom is located in Jefferson Park (about a five-minute walk) along the track.

Join us at the West Seattle Nursery for an evening of creativity and community at the West Seattle Art Walk featuring Carmen Leslie’s art! We look forward to seeing you there!

Featured Artist:

Carmen Leslie's art training began as a small child when she accompanied her mother to college art classes. Enamored with the vast array of media and tools at her disposal, Carmen began a lifetime exploration of the intersection between natural beauty and creative expression.

Inspired by the botanical world, Carmen interprets its vitality of expression, saturation of color, and calming organic forms through her signature process of “exhaustive layering." The result is intricate patterns, abstract but familiar that have been likened to cityscapes and alien languages.

Carmen's paintings draw viewers into a meditative repose while they search out the most captivating impressions and resonant images. Now in making the transition from commissioned work to her own personal unfettered expression, Carmen is eager to share her art and passion with new audiences.

You can follow her work and support her through her Instagram:
