West Seattle Nursery and Garden Center is thrilled to welcome Seattle Bee Works for an intensive three part Seattle Bee School. Anyone who wants to learn how to keep beehives on their property or elsewhere should take this course. Over the course of the summer, you will learn about beekeeping supplies, setting up and maintaining your own hives, how to raise healthy, happy honey bees, beekeeping safety, and harvesting honey. The series will culminate in a Honey Harvesting and Tasting Event in August 2013.
Instructor Krista Conner is the President of the Puget Sound Bee Keepers Association and the Owner of Seattle Bee Works, a company that places honey bee hives with homeowners (hive hosts) across Seattle-helping pollinate local plants and flowers. Krista’s antibiotic-free beekeeping practices ensure a pure, raw artisan honey that honors the intimate bond between the health of bees and humans.
The class fee for Seattle Bee School is $100.00 per person for the whole three part series. Paid pre-registration is required and class space is limited to 15 people per class. Because of the serial nature of this course there will be no registration refunds. Due to the limited space of the class we recommend you call us to pre-register today to guarantee your spot. (206)935-9276.

Due to the overwhelming success of our Houseplant Repotting Weekend, we have decided to offer it one last time this month. This weekend, January 26th and 27th, bring your houseplants in and a pot to repot them into (or buy one here, they are all still on sale for 15% to 50% off) and we’ll repot them for you for free! There is no limit, bring as many plants in as you like. The houseplant repotting service includes fresh new soil, a clean-up of foliage and roots if necessary and, if desired, houseplant care and maintenance advice from our team of experts.
